'Kinsey Schofield Unfiltered' host Kinsey Schofield weighs in on the end of Stephen Colbert’s late-night run after years of constant decline in ratings.
“Good riddance. The late-night ecosystem, it had to evolve. Ratings are down, dollars are shrinking, and people are tired of being lectured to when they sit down for laughs,” Ms Schofield told Sky News Digital Reporter Gabriella Power.
“I don’t think Colbert is the victim here; he had a good run, but audiences have changed; people want escapism again.
“They don’t necessarily want partisan commentary wrapped inside every punchline, and that’s what we get from all of these late-night guys.
“I hope that they’re watching and wondering maybe I should pivot going forward so I’m not next on the chopping block.”
