This talk explores how everyday social connections can become a powerful “library of life scripts.” Through her own journey from a stable government position to international NGOs and European policy research, the speaker shares how observing, connecting with, and learning from others opened new career possibilities. She encourages women and young professionals to build meaningful networks, stay curious about different life paths, and develop the courage to step into the international workplace. Jing Guo is a sustainability policy expert with nearly 10 years of strategic operations experience in international NGOs in China. She specializes in China-Europe sustainability policy, carbon neutrality strategy, and climate disclosure consulting for leading automotive and industrial companies. She is the author of Telling China’s Green Stories Well: A Practical Guide to Corporate Low-Carbon and Sustainability Practice (2025). With a master’s degree in environmental law and nearly a decade of experience in provincial government, she later served as General Manager of the Tianjin Chapter of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China from 2017 to 2024.
