Labor’s anti-AUKUS faction warned its ignoring the threat China poses

The Australian Columnist Tom Switzer warns a growing anti-AUKUS faction within Labor risks overlooking the biggest strategic challenge facing Australia and the region. “I think that what this shows is that there’s a splinter group within the Labor Party who don’t support AUKUS,” Mr Switzer told Sky News host Steve Price. “There is a broad consensus in Canberra, I think, that the main geopolitical threat to American privacy and stability and peace in our region is the People's Republic of China; it’s not Russia, it’s not Iran, it’s China. “My concerns with that splinter group are that I’m not sure that they even recognise that reality. “What’s the alternative to AUKUS?”
