Even though his granddaughter found garden snails cute and didn’t want to eat them, her grandpa was determined to cook some for her to try. He had been eating snails since he was a child and loved them. He wanted to share his favorite food with his granddaughter, convinced she would love them too.
One early morning, Grandpa went out into the garden and gathered a basket of fresh snails. He then spent the rest of the day carefully preparing them. He cleaned them, boiled them, and added them to a delicious sauce.
When dinner was ready, Grandpa called his granddaughter to the table. She hesitated at first when she saw the snails, but Grandpa assured her they were delicious. She took a small bite—and to her surprise, she loved them! She couldn’t believe that something so cute could taste so good.
Grandpa was overjoyed that his granddaughter enjoyed the snails. He told her stories about eating them when he was young and shared the different ways snails are prepared and eaten in cultures around the world.
From that day on, Grandpa and his granddaughter often ate snails together. They would even go out into the garden as a team to gather them. Grandpa was happy to pass on his favorite food, and even happier that she had come to appreciate the deliciousness of snails.
