Here’s everything I ate on my first class train journey from Hyderabad to Chennai, and this ride turned into a much better food experience than I expected. The trip began at Cherlapalli with a surprisingly vintage looking train and an unexpected delay due to a loco issue, but things slowly picked up once the journey settled into rhythm.
Some very kind neighbours shared their meal with me early in the ride, which instantly made the trip more comfortable. Later at Guntur station I collected my online order and headed back to my berth for what turned into the highlight of the journey. The veg rice had a proper spicy kick, while the chicken curry rice and chicken liver rice completely changed what I thought train food could taste like.
This Hyderabad to Chennai journey reminded me that sometimes the most memorable meals happen in the middle of travel, not just at restaurants or street stops.
