FOURTH generation cattle rancher John Ladd estimates that over the last 30 years, US law enforcement has caught half a million migrants on his land. The border between Mexico and the United States forms the southern boundary of his 16,000-acre plot. For 129 years his family have reared livestock on the land, whilst also being the landing site for thousands of illegal migrants trying to sneak into the US.
