Rising an impressive 260.5 metres (855 feet) above the Bhagirathi River valley, this engineering marvel dominates the surrounding Himalayan landscape. Captured from a dramatic high-angle perspective, the footage reveals the vast embankment stretching across the valley, while a multi-lane roadway runs along the crest of the dam, illuminated by rows of lights as evening descends over the Garhwal Himalayas. The video also showcases the iconic control building and clock tower complex glowing against the mountain backdrop. Nearby, the enormous shaft spillways, often called "glory hole spillways," stand ready to channel excess water safely from the reservoir during periods of heavy inflow.
