“We’ve met people with a lot of pain, people with suspected broken ribs that cannot really breathe well”
A lawyer who visited flotilla detainees in Israel on Wednesday said activists had been subjected to violence, including the use of rubber bullets, and that several were suffering from pain.
“We know of at least two participants who were hospitalised. They had to be taken to hospital to get treatment. Both of them were shot by rubber bullets for no reason, without any justification,” said Suhad Bishara, a lawyer at Adalah, a legal rights group representing activists.
Bishara added that 430 activists were currently being held in Israel and said she hoped deportation proceedings would begin by Thursday.
