Bartłomiej Łukasz Zimny spent years defining himself through sport, discipline, and physical achievement. In this personal and reflective talk, he explores what happens when the identity you built around your body suddenly disappears. After breaking his wrist as a breakdancer and athlete, he was forced to stop doing the one thing that had shaped his sense of self for years.
Through his story, Bartłomiej reflects on the fear of starting over and the freedom that can come from redirecting your energy into something entirely new. This talk is for everyone who feels trapped inside one version of themselves, and a reminder that transformation is not about returning to who you were, but allowing yourself to become someone new.
Bartłomiej is a fifth-year law student preparing for his PhD and an active participant in numerous international scientific conferences. He is a former Polish breakdance champion, a Ninja Warrior Poland contestant, and a personal trainer.
He is also the author of books, including 3 Fundamenty (published in multiple languages), and has organized over 100 author meetings to connect with readers.
He was inspired to become a TEDx speaker through his conversations with young people, where he noticed how much anxiety they feel about living up to the labels society gives them. He wants to use this stage to show that stepping away from past successes to start entirely from scratch is not a failure, but the most courageous way to grow. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
