Seyi Makinde officially declared his intention to run for president, making the announcement at a massive rally. Thousands of supporters from the Peoples Democratic Party and Allied Peoples Movement gathered as both parties unveiled a political alliance ahead of the 2027 elections. However, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike was quick to dismiss Makinde's claims of a potential APM-PDP alliance, calling it a 419 scam.
