BC residents “may face loss of their title”: Poilievre says feds must protect land rights

Your home, your property. That's the message from Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre, who urged the federal government Thursday to defend private property rights in response to the B.C. Supreme Court decision that he says creates uncertainty for home and business owners. “The ruling covers 800 acres of Richmond (B.C.) worth a billion dollars, but has impact right across British Columbia because almost all of the province is under some sort of claim. And if this precedent holds up, then all of British Columbians may face loss of their title,” Poilievre said. Poilievre and the Conservatives have tabled a motion demanding the Liberals protect Canadians affected by the decision.
