In December 2025, my take-home salary was 6,627.74 RMB, which is about $920 USD or €850 EUR.
It’s not considered a high salary in China, especially in big cities like Shenzhen, but I try my best to manage my expenses and not spend too much.
I live alone in a small apartment — about 13 square meters, on the 7th floor with no elevator. Because of that, the rent is relatively low.
My monthly rent is around 1,200 RMB (about $165 USD / €155 EUR).
My total monthly expenses are around 4,580 RMB (about $635 USD / €585 EUR), which include:
Rent
Utilities (water & electricity)
Food
Transportation
Daily necessities
And 1,000 RMB I send to my parents every month
