The “P.A.U.S.E. method” is a simple mental technique designed to help when you get stuck in your own head and caught in overthinking spirals. It starts with pausing and becoming aware of your thoughts instead of reacting to them. Then you ask yourself whether those thoughts are actually helping you feel the way you want to feel. This creates space between you and your mind, allowing you to realize you are not your thoughts. The next step is repetition and grounding, reminding yourself that thinking itself often fuels suffering. Finally, instead of analyzing your emotions, you allow yourself to simply feel them without resistance. The goal is not to eliminate thoughts, but to stop being controlled by them.
