In a welcome break from tradition, the weather is promising to be warm and sunny across the UK this Bank Holiday weekend and into half-term week.
In fact, the likelihood of some areas seeing their first heatwave of the year is increasing, with the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) issuing a heat health alert for several regions in England from Friday.
Temperatures will rise steadily over the next few days, with many areas becoming very warm or even hot by the weekend.
The hottest temperatures will be recorded across southern and central England, parts of Wales and sheltered inland areas away from the coast.
Maximum temperatures could hit 30C in the southeast over the Bank Holiday weekend.
Not quite as hot elsewhere, but temperatures are still expected to soar well above the seasonal average; widely 17-23C in the north, and 24-30C in the south.
