A unique project is helping to preserve the history of Japanese Canadians.
The Sedai project is working to digitally preserve the personal stories of Japanese Canadians and teach people how to discover their own family history — by sitting down and interviewing a relative.
The initiative is also a vital digital archive of Japanese Canadians’ accounts of internment camps set up during the Second World War.
Karen Suzuki sat down with Global News to explain the scope of the project and how Canadians can benefit from hearing first-hand about what their loved ones experienced.
