Shaun arrived in New Zealand in 2019, starting his foundation studies online during the pandemic. Despite the distance and challenges, his passion for medicine grew—fuelled by inspiring mentors at the University of Auckland International College (UoAIC). After graduating with straight As in Biomedical Science, Shaun earned a coveted place in the University of Auckland’s medical school. Now in his final year of clinical medicine, he’s working toward becoming a neurosurgeon or cardiothoracic surgeon.
