Western Canada premiers gather in Kananaskis for 2-day annual meeting

Premiers across Western Canada and the Northwest Territories are meeting in Kananaskis, Alta., on Monday. The annual two-day summit happens as Alberta comes closer than ever to triggering a vote on separation. It also occurs at a time of heightened tensions between Alberta and B.C. Alberta Premier Danielle Smith announced last week that an October referendum question will ask Albertans if they want to remain in Canada or start the process toward a binding referendum on separation.
