Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple Inc, has announced that he will step down from his role. This is one of the biggest leadership changes in the tech world right now.
Tim Cook is not suddenly quitting or leaving the company completely. Instead, this is a planned transition. He will step down as CEO on September 1, 2026, after leading Apple for about 15 years.
After stepping down, he will take a new role as Executive Chairman, meaning he will still stay involved in important decisions and global matters, but will not handle day-to-day operations.
The new CEO will be John Ternus, who currently heads Apple’s hardware engineering team. He has been with Apple for many years and worked on major products like Macs and iPhones.
This change marks the end of an era. Tim Cook took over Apple in 2011 after Steve Jobs and helped grow the company massively. Under his leadership, Apple became one of the most valuable companies in the world (around $4 trillion) and expanded into services, wearables, and more.
