Inside the clear plastic dome are several loose steel balls and a series of small target cups molded into the base. Using a magnet hidden inside the yellow wand, the player can pull individual balls up the side of the dome and move them around without ever touching them directly.
The challenge comes from positioning a ball precisely over one of the empty cups before quickly removing the magnetic force. If the timing and alignment are correct, the ball drops neatly into the target. Even a slight mistake can cause it to bounce away and miss completely.
Popular throughout the 1970s and 1980s, magnetic dexterity games like this were designed to test hand eye coordination, patience, and fine motor control. Their simple mechanics combined with surprisingly difficult gameplay helped make them a lasting favorite among pocket sized puzzle toys.
